Awesome Graphics—Woman Owned Small Business

Congrats to our own Tami Napolitano for meeting all of the certification requirements to be able to officially be called an SBA (Small Business Administration) Woman Owned Small Business.

The WOSB program helps provide a level playing field for women business owners, as well as providing competitive benefits in businesses that participate in the women’s contracting program. Joining the women’s contracting program made Awesome Graphics eligible to compete for federal contracts set aside for the program.

Women’s contracting program eligibility requirements

To be eligible for the women’s contracting program, Awesome Graphics had to

  • Be a small business (we definitely qualified on that one!)
  • Be at least 51% owned and controlled by a woman who is a U.S. citizen (check on that one too!)
  • Have women manage day-to-day operations and also make long-term decisions (ahem…)

To become certified Tami not only had the meet the basic requirements but go through an entire certification process. And, now that she’s certified, she’ll also need to update her certification each year to remain in the program. It was a lot of work, now that she’s completed the certification, Awesome Graphics is entitled to display the WOSB logo.

Way to go Tami!
